Refund Policy
We stand behind what we sell. Before you buy anything through DeskTool, we'd rather you try the free trial and be confident it's the right fit. However, if something genuinely doesn't work as it should, here's exactly how we handle it.
1. Try Before You Buy
Every tool in our catalog has a free trial or demo version. We strongly recommend running it on your actual files before purchasing. It's the fastest way to confirm compatibility and avoid needing a refund in the first place.
2. Our 30-Day Guarantee
If the software you purchased through DeskTool doesn't do what it's supposed to, and our support team can't get it working for you, you can request a refund within 30 days of your purchase date. Requests made after that window won't be eligible.
3. When a Refund Applies
You're likely eligible for a refund if:
- The licensed software genuinely can't do what's described on its product page.
- You've worked with support and the issue still isn't resolved.
- The full version behaves differently and worse than the free trial did.
- You accidentally bought the same product twice.
- You raised the issue and requested the refund within the 30-day window.
- You've cooperated with troubleshooting steps and provided the details support asked for.
4. Before You Request a Refund
To make the process quick, please have this ready:
- Your order ID or purchase confirmation.
- A clear description of the problem.
- Screenshots or sample files, if support asks for them, so we can actually diagnose the issue.
We'll give our support team a real shot at fixing it first. Most issues get resolved without needing a refund at all. If they genuinely can't, we'll move forward with the refund.
5. When a Refund Doesn't Apply
To keep this fair for everyone, refunds aren't available when:
- The request comes in after the 30-day window.
- You purchased without trying the free trial first.
- Support wasn't given the information or cooperation needed to investigate.
- The issue is actually caused by your system setup, an unsupported configuration, or not meeting minimum requirements, rather than the software itself.
- The software works as described, but you no longer need it or bought the wrong product/edition.
- You've already completed your migration, conversion, backup, or recovery successfully using the software.
- The request is about a promotional bundle, subscription renewal, or special discount purchase.
- License delivery was delayed by something outside our control (spam filters, email provider issues, etc.).
6. How the Process Works
- Contact us with your order ID and a description of the issue.
- We'll investigate and work with you (and, where needed, our software partner's technical team) to try to resolve it.
- If it can't be fixed, we'll approve the refund.
- Approved refunds are typically processed within 10 to 15 business days, returned to your original payment method.
7. After a Refund Is Approved
Once a refund goes through, your license is cancelled immediately. You'll need to uninstall the software from any devices you installed it on and stop using it. This mirrors standard software licensing practice: a refund and continued use aren't compatible.
